Tristate Studios
is run by Jason R. Yaniga. I’ve been in the industry for close to 20 years now and started in Video Duplication in August of 2001. Very quickly I realized I needed to get behind those edit desks and start creating the stuff I was duplicating. I’ve always had a very artistic and creative background so why not mix those into video editing. A few short years later I was working directly with major clients from Fortune 500 companies and helping turn their visions into fantastic Corporate Videos.
The Next Level
In 2007 I formed Tristate Studios and began freelancing with some contacts I’ve made in the industry doing corporate work and then eventually Direct Response. In 2011 I made the tough decision to go out on my own completely and take Tristate Studios to the next level. I opened my first edit suite in Little Ferry, NJ and have since moved to Lake Hopatcong, NJ where I opened my newest facility in August 2019.
3D Animation
3D was another aspect of the business that really intrigued me, it was like modeling with Play-Doh but in 3D space on a computer. Back then the software was very expensive and not many options existed at the time but I was lucky enough to have a copy of an old program called infini-d. And from there I self taught myself the program and over the years have experimented with many other programs and special effects software. This is something I truly have a passion for and love experimenting with new ways to achieve the perfect end result.

But wait there’s more!!! Direct Response!!! Wipe New, Genie Bra, Copper Chef, PowerXL Products and so many others. I’m not sure I could even name every spot I have worked on. I’ve done countless spots and shows over the years and love editing them and having free range of creative decisions. It’s what I’m great at and why my clients keep returning. Most of the time a client will send me footage and a script and I’ll take care of the rest. I work fast and efficient too. It’s a fast moving industry and I understand time is money and money is time like no one else.
Personal Life
Aside from Post-Production I enjoy spending time with my wife and two boys. I love traveling and visiting new places by land or sea and meeting people and enjoy spending free time on the lake attempting to catch fish. I also love being creative in the kitchen and cooking everything from Pizza to Sushi and even Indian Cuisines and smoking all sorts of meats.
