What is Direct Response? It’s marketing of the latest and greatest gadgets and gizmos in video form which are then edited into short or long-form spots for TV & Social Media. Your target audience will depend on your media buy which is specific placement on certain channels and time slots. The spot will focus primarily on problem to solution and include “the secret” or what makes your product better than the competitors. Most spots 2 minutes or less are geared at price points of $29.99 or less while price points above that say 3 easy payments of 49.99 are mainly put into long-form infomercials that are typically 30 minutes. These shows allow for enough time to explain all the benefits of the product to the consumer while keeping them intrigued with real world testimonials, mall segments and even hands on demonstrations with a studio audience.
